Been feeling ill for a couple of days and developed a whanger of a headache. Wifey suggested I use one of the home tests I got from Amazon a little while back. And it says I have Covid.

So out comes the Durvet horsey paste. Wifey cut up some apples (as I figured pretending to be a horse would help things), and I squeezed out a 250-pound portion on to one apple boat. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

My sinuses seem mostly unaffected. I’m coughing just a little, but am very able to clear my lungs of the small amount of whatever is there. My energy is way down (general fatigue) and I still have this massive headache. For that I’ve taken Tylenol, aspirin, and ibuprofen, but none of it has helped much.

Oh - and I had massive diarrhea and nausea yesterday and the day before. Is that a covid symptom? Took Immodium two days in a row and it seems to have helped. Stomach is still a little fragile feeling though so Wifey has limited me to rice with butter on it. (It’s like a fucking Nork prison here.)

Neither I, nor any of my immediately family, have gotten the shot - and we still will not.

Anyone else gone through this shit?

whanger of a headache.......diarrhea and nausea yesterday

Might be related. You're probably dehydrated from the diarrhoea.

Heat kills corona viruses. Drink warm drinks, eat warm soup. Take a long, nice hot bath, submerged up to your chin. Keep yourself warm and sweat it out. It's a corona virus, just like the common cold. You treat it the same way. Do those things, and in a few hours it'll be killed off.

If the wife or kids start to feel rotten, do those same things.

Also, don't take Tylenol (ibuprofen). It stops fevers. More specifically, it stops your immune system from giving you a fever. And your immune system gives you a fever to kill viruses. By taking it you're crippling your immune system.

The problem is if you get a dangerous fever, that threatens to kill you along with the virus. It'd be better to take tylenol and then use controlled heat, like said baths. Just sayin'.

No. You should never take Tylenol when you have a fever.

Your immune system know what it's doing, when it's working properly. A functioning, healthy, properly working immune system will never give you a "dangerous fever". Only if the immune system crippled or faulty would it ever do that. And what causes the immune system to be faulty or crippled to the point of causing a "dangerous fever" is if you're taking meds that stop symptoms. Symptoms that are caused by your immune system doing its job.

I dunno, man. I know it's anecdotal, so by saying the following, I'm basically saying "agree to disagree", but: every time I've ever been sick, I down a bottle of cough-syrup, put on like three layers of socks, two pairs of PJ bottoms, two shirts, a sweater and a hoodie on top of it. Grab the space-heater, point it at myself, and get under all the covers. Usually shove a handful of anti-histamines in to myself, as well, just to force me to sleep in such a state. Layers come off/on, through the day-and-night, but I stay as hot as is tolerable. I've never been sick for more than like, 3 days.
