Take the cash and do a chargeback on your CC on top, telling them they didn't refund you the full amount. Someone at Home Depot corporate is going to have to review the whole transaction and I bet they throw a hissy fit when they see it's over a $0.05 amount.
I love petty aggression.
I just hate MegaCorp all the time. I use cash at local stores but if I have to use a big one I always use CC in case they fuck around even the slightest.
I just did a chargeback at Walmart last month because I ordered a 3-pack of 5qt motor oil. Price was like $25, so obviously an error as that's the price of one. Of course only one came and customer service said sorry but that was a website error and so I did a chargeback for the whole order with the CC because part of my order was missing and I screencapped it saying 3-PACK. Charges were refunded and I haven't heard anything and never will.
Good on you. I just got an ATM card after about 7 years of being cash only because there are some things I can't buy now with places insisting on no cash (NWO marching orders to track all our purchases). I use a local credit union and am thinking about getting a second one to diversify my options regarding accessing cash.
