The FDA has some similar regulations in the US. That's why some shit like kraft singles say "pasteurized prepared cheese product". They can't just label it as "cheese" because it's not cheese, it's a garbage overprocessed facsimile.
It varies wildly and even when there are specific regulations they compare poorly to international standards. USDA 'organic' is a joke. The American legal definition of chocolate is specific but quite low.
