When covid lockdowns hit, our area ran out of seeds and couldn't get shipment. Really hurt some organic small farms here relying on onion and potato sets. I used the organic bags of potatoes from Safeway to grow more. I harvest seeds when I can from my plants. This last fall, I planted a small orchard of apple and cherry trees, a few grape vines, and several blueberry bushes. I have emergency seed packs and trade the varieties I don't want. We have a seed packet exchange at the local library.
I buy most of my seeds on ebay from USA sources. Lot of local nursery businesses for plant starts.
Never thought of ebay :-)
we had the same sellout of everything in years past, but Jung Seed came through for us for most stuff. Surprisingly, we were able to get one or two things at Walmart, of all places.
