Buy seeds, lots of them, if there are any left over distribute them. Do this for the sake of your independence, before some deluded person here comes along and lies to you that everything will be fine in today's world.

LOL, ok then deluded rabbi!

I go to VictorySeeds.Com

From their website: working to keep rare, open-pollinated, non-GMO, non-hybrid, heirloom seeds available to home gardeners.

I've also used victory seeds, they have some great stuff.

PSA - If you store seeds away for when SHTF, keep in mind seeds don't last forever. I checked the expiry date on my seeds and looked online and depending on the seeds and how you store them, consider replacing them every 2 years to ensure viability.

I would also think, if planning for shts stuff, a stockpile of marijuana seeds would be good to have. If society breaks down, vices will be valuable trading commodities. It wouldnt even have to be the high octane princess shit sold nowadays. Some 80s style schwag weed would be great for trading if the world goes to hell.

I would like to try distilling potatoes into vodka next year.

I wasn't thinking for SHTF, but just for spring planting. we still have snow on the ground, but I like to order now so I can start some seeds indoors.

I do agree, ~2 year life span on the seeds. you can get lucky and some will last longer, but usually the germination rate drops quite a bit after the first year.

Buy seeds now and start the planting. It's pretty easy to set up mini greenhouses.

I never understood the attraction for preppers to have seeds. Best i can figure they have never grown anything ever before in there life. you need a large plot of ground, a lot of water, and the most important.. TIME. If shit hits the fan your garden will be found and stolen from you. if shit hits the fan you have to wait at best 4 months to eat a carrot. the pitiful amount of food you will get wont help you survive. your way better off with a 50lb bag of rice.

Avoid high mowing, they have gone sjw crazed and their seeds have gone to shit, many arent even what you Buy. Fedco out of Maine has been incredible. You are behind the 8 ball, many things are already sold out. Shit got weird two years ago and isn’t slowing down.

Just made an order from St Clare seeds and they had plenty in stock.

Try and save seeds from the next crop, you will have plenty for yourself and others for some years.

Depending on what you're shopping for and the quantities: large amounts(farming)-johnnys. Any smaller amounts(average garden) get them at fleet farm, Lowes, etc. I've been gardening and farming my entire life and have had best luck with seeds from department stores. Garlic and potatoes you should just get your own seed from your harvests the previous year. I'd be happy to help you get going with a plan if you want.

When covid lockdowns hit, our area ran out of seeds and couldn't get shipment. Really hurt some organic small farms here relying on onion and potato sets. I used the organic bags of potatoes from Safeway to grow more. I harvest seeds when I can from my plants. This last fall, I planted a small orchard of apple and cherry trees, a few grape vines, and several blueberry bushes. I have emergency seed packs and trade the varieties I don't want. We have a seed packet exchange at the local library.

I buy most of my seeds on ebay from USA sources. Lot of local nursery businesses for plant starts.

Never thought of ebay :-)
we had the same sellout of everything in years past, but Jung Seed came through for us for most stuff. Surprisingly, we were able to get one or two things at Walmart, of all places.
