Was there some cohen19 rule that started making people get tested? "no jab, weekly testing to keep working"?

possibly. I'd more than likely press my luck with it though. thus far the testing guidance has been shit at-best and every time I challenge the 'official guidance' from HR that 'follows the guidance' pushed in the EO, I get nothing... No one knows
