Happy ending I got the job!

Interviewed this morning, got a call right after I got home. They want me and will have an official offer to me by 5pm!

Fuck. Yes.

They don't mask, they aren't woke, they won't follow the guidelines, and they're a $6 billion company that actually saw massive growth over the last year.

And, it will be the most money I've ever made...$115k. I've never had an interview turn around so quickly, I'm fucking giddy over here.

My kid just got a great new job with a global company, he's had only one vax, hope they don't ask for more.

I dunno, it's a 'renewable energy' firm, so, yikes.

I sort of did. Before the interview we had a phone call and I just flat out told them I wasn't vaccinated and never would be, I won't do testing, and that if they have diversity training, I won't attend. Just to get it out of the way and save us both time.

They literally laughed on the phone and said no problem. Honestly, that may be a big part of why they liked me so much. Oh, and the fact that 90% of their applicants are on H1-B visas, and they hate working with those people. Lol. So, they might be a little racist too, haha.

I'm gonna DM you, I'm trying to make programming a career. I'm currently in the technology field but in Account management and sales.

Tough part about programming jobs anymore, is a lot of companies are shifting to cloud services, which is killing IT jobs. You'll want to either try to get a job at one of the cloud companies, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, etc., or find a company that still writes code in-house. Or be a contractor, but I swear, that kind of work is soul-crushing. Worked for Deloitte for about 4 months till I quit. Programming was always a creative job for me, and that place sucks all creativity out of the process.

I've been a software developer for years, but this will be my move into management. So, bonus, I don't ever HAVE to write code again. Now I can just do it for fun, when I want to.

I work for a great company, as well. Our CEO called an all hands and said they'd fight against vaccine mandates until the risk of fines become too great (we are publicly traded so even saying this could have caused our stocks to take a hit if he worded it poorly).

No mask mandates, no vaccines, etc.

Not dealing with all the shit folks on this site talk about makes my (our) life far less stressful.

I hope you stick around. Tell us stories about the new place.
