I used to ship computer stuff via UPS all the time, but I required payment in advance, including the shipping costs.
Nothing ships 'til the money clears.
My business was not focused on online sales, but I would do them on my terms.
I didn't accept credit cards either.
Ran the business without bank credit.
I did accept debit cards.
You usually get credit from your own suppliers once they have done business with you for a while and you are a regular customer. Mainly this helps to streamline the logistics.
Giving and receiving credit is one of the areas your business can get into serious trouble.
Humans have a tendency not to pay their bills.
I remember when Paypal first started withholding vendor funds with BS excuses.
Just a bunch of criminal scammers at the vendor's expense.
I used to buy all of my RAM and CPU's from Republican Chinese (Taiwon Chinese) in Toronto, and they would sell it cash only and directly hand deliver like pizza. They delivered every morning with their own employees. Triad people. No one gets credit. Cash is king. Fuck around and get chopped with a meat cleaver. It was like dealing drugs.

He informs that the card is bent but as it's a download card it won't effect the download so he discounts the item to 4.50 dollars.
Guy gets the download card after buying it and starts complaining it was bent and that it was a gift for his sister with muh kondishuns.
They refund the guy the 4.50. Petty petty world.

A buyer screwed me because he didn't read my description or look at the dozen pictures I took so I was on the hook for shipping a large box both ways. I couldn't even do anything, there is no way to contact a human rep, so I just stopped paying the fees. Fuck em.
