I went to the grocery store earlier today, my total was $21.41 - there was a sign on the plexi-glass covid shield (lol) that said "Card or Exact Amount only" - the faggot bottom boy cashier was ringing up my items and when he was done I said to him "I have cash but I'm not able to pay the EXACT amount" - I handed him $22.01, (2 ten dollar bills & 2 singles) he opens the cash register and got confused, hands me back a $10 dollar bill saying I overpaid, then asks for it back - and I told him "I gave you $22.00 - 2 tens & 2 ones" - he looks at me & his cash drawer - gets frustrated and says that his shift is over & he needs to count to his draw to make sure I gave him the correct amount. He abruptly leaves without giving me any details & tells another worker to fill his spot. The line is backed up by now - at least 5 other people - He gets upset & tells me to wait 5 minutes while he counts his draw. z

As I'm waiting, I'm gathering my groceries and the new cashier gives me my receipt & change - I tell her I don't really know what's going on, the fag cashier left in a 'harump' & she tells me that it was just a shift change-over & don't worry about it.

I get home, check my remaining cash & realize I just got a $10 discount. And to think I almost payed with my card when the faggot made a hissy fit that I didn't give him enough money. Oh well, too fucking bad. Not my problem.

Anytime I have had a cashier make a mistake and overpaid me I did the White thing and gave it back to them.

Once I was collecting payment for parking for a golf event. Cost was like $5. Guy accidentally had a $100 bill stuck to the $5 bill. I did the whit thing and gave it back. Kinda hurt TBH being that I was a poor college kid.

I found out very quickly that the best way to deal with kids doing the right thing and handing in money they found on my worksites was to give them a high five and tell them to enjoy the money.

At shopping centres in Vic, the money goes to lost and found, then to a cop shop then 'if the owner hasnt claimed the random $50/$100 note found in the middle of nowhere then the kid can come get it back'... by which time the shift who paid for lunch with it then has to do a whip around and replace it.

Best reward i could give those kids was call them absolute bloody legends, thanks for letting us know, and (they) keep the money.

A full wallet/purse different story unfortunately but id always take it to a desk somewhere and go through it in front of someone, theres always a membership card or something in them you can ring up and tell someone to get in touch with the member and come get their shit... french embassy down here somehow managed to get in touch with a passport holder once dont know how they did that unless they were government workers.

I had someone intercept one of my rent checks a few years ago. He called claiming "some kids" found it in the street and had opened it. I think he was shooting for that angle, like I would give a reward for mail fraud or something.

I had a waitress give me the wrong bill about 50$ less than what I owed. I also did the white thing and informed the owner of the mistake and paid my correct bill.

A few years back I would have done that. But they lost all their good will by enforcing mask mandates. Fuck them.

That's the owners, not the employees

This has never happened to me. When they make mistakes it's always them short-changing me, and then I have to correct them.

If the cashier is a nigger I keep the money.

OP tried and couldn't teach beta boi how to count.

You didnt realize it when he handed you a 10 back? And you didnt give it back when he asked? Are you a nigger?

How often I pay with ten and get change for a twenty?

Happens at least once a year.

I do not return the excess.

I figure it help balances out for the times they overcharge me.

I used to get mad - now I don't care - must be getting old.

They can't count anymore. It's a lost skill.

Sad to see really.

was the fag a nigger?

He looked like a jew which makes everything even more sweet!

This thread is a prime example how people will justify their shitty actions. I have learned in dealing with people that if they will justify a small theft, they will justify a large. Eventually they will fuck over family and justify it.

if a person keeps giving back money to cashiers who screw up, how will they ever learn? everyone keeps pushing the idiots forward until they are handling great sums of cash as in working in DC. i bet AOC couldn't give correct change.

when a dumbass cashier (that you have determined to need a lesson) gives you an overage, let it ride so that their manager can inform them. if it keeps happening, that cashier does not need to be working with money. when they shortchange you, just immediately ask for the front-end manager so that he or she can explain the math to them.

My rule is always pay cash for a local mom & pop or one-man operation. Big evil corps? Give em the card. It costs them money.

[–] 0 pt

Yep.

They can follow you around and then refuse to 'serve' you all they like, they cant stop you slapping down a fiddy and telling them to shove the change up their vaxxholes.

Yeah, like it's worth less and less by the day.
