If you're dating a girl (which he is) and you like her a lot (which he does) and she wants you to meet her parents (which she does), do it.

That might fly in the face of what most guys would say, but here's my reasoning.

If you like her and you think it could become serious, you're better off meeting her parents before it does. Pay close attention to how they interact; whether they're bossy or loving; whether it looks like they're putting on a show for the boyfriend, etc. You're much better finding out what her relationship to her parents is like before you become too attached, because if you wait until you're head-over-heels, you could be in for a world of hurt.

Also, take a look at which parent she favors more, because you're getting a glimpse into your future.

More than that. You can see how well her parents age so will have a good idea of how well she ages. You can see if they keep a neat house or are slobs. You can see if you get along with them, why join a family you don't like? Find out if there are any mental illnesses or genetic defects in her immediate family. See what kind of books they have in the house and learn what kind of people they are. Find out if they are prepared for emergencies and forward thinkers, or they just get through pay check to pay check. You get to see pictures of her when she was young to make sure that she was always a she.

There's always people who buck the trend of their parents and family though, which is why sub-optimal family isn't always a dealbreaker (of course this is on a case by case basis though).

The idea to fuck around during your youth (and find out) is terrible. If the person isn't marriage material you're wasting your time and missing out on a good one at best, and risking disease, pregnancy, insanity at worst.
