Always knew the day would come, but they have officially disowned me, called me mentally ill, told me im an egoist and irresponsible, shrieking at me about how i'm not thinking about my health. i tried holding out against them, but now i stand my ground, and it looks like family members will be lost in this war

You should put some distance between yourself and them.

Time and distance changes things where families are concerned.

This applies to both covid and non covid related matters.

Fighting with the family accomplishes exactly nothing good.

Better to put some space between you and remain civil.

This entire scenario may look very different in five years time - and that's only 60 months from now.
