Men tend to be guilty of quite a bit before a woman leaves..... Is he physically fit? Actually fun to be around? Engaged with his woman? And lastly... how does he react when he loses his job?... Does he immediately hustle that day and not stop until he's found one, or does he take a few days on video games to 'unwind'?

A man has a responsibility to understand the nature of a woman, then to understand the nature of his woman, then he needs to act accordingly... as a man.

No it's not.

It's an evolutionary adaptation. Women monkeybranch along the hierarchy and up the hierarchy. Never down. This is why you take a woman kayaking or some other brutal activity, to see who she really is.

Men seriously misunderstand women. We think of women like magic beings that gift us with fairy dust or some bullshit like that. The reality of women is this:

• Any man can walk into a forest with a pair of boots and the clothes on his back and he has a reasonable chance of surviving for some time.

• THERE ARE NO WOMEN that can walk out into a forest with a pair of boots and the clothes on their back and survive for any amount of time.

• If you add pregnancy to the equation, a woman has to secure a man of fighting stature that can protect her for 9 months of a pregnancy + recovery time ... for each pregnancy.

• Then you have to add to that a woman has to have most of her kids before thirty, the closer to 20 the better. Post 30, it gets dicy and as they approach 40 ... the clock has almost clicked over. They have HUGE pressure to secure a man, secure resources, take a huge gamble on a single male to get reproduce and secure enough resources to last her through her 40s and onward.

Yes, there are exceptions to the rule, I have met some amazing women that supported their husbands when their health deteriorated and everything ended up on the womans shoulder. Actually my friends mother is taking care of her husband who came down with a degenrative desease and has really taken it's toll.

What men want in women is basically this: a solid team member that will fit into the team and take on responsibility at the appropriate level and be judged at a meritocracy + level. Basically, men want women to be men ... which is fucking stupid.

Women are vicious and tough survivors that are hard wired for surviving within the social group BY MANIPULATING everyone and everything in the social group in aid of that survival. That comes with all of the good and all of the bad.

As long as you know what you are buying, you know your risk exposure and how to plan for it. Yes, our gynocentric civilization has allowed women to parasitize the system as a whole, but that is because men allowed leadership of our civilizations to be frittered away.

Basically, look for a high quality women, understand your risk exposer and do the best to plan. Not everyone will win, but if we work together over time we should be able to improve the situation.

I pity men not smart enough to know she would do that before marrying them

Both should be working and their wives should be encouraging the husband to get back to work. If the husband is not looking for another job and is being lazy. Then the wife can divorce his broke ass. If the wife is being the lazy ass and not working. he is clearly better off without her.

Imagine getting legally married.

Agreed. I put them in the same category as men who cheat on or leave their pregnant wife/girlfriend.
