That must be hard on your dad but I'm sure he's proud of you in that case. My wife's family has similar issues. We get an uncomfortable amount of praise from her parents just for bare minimum functioning

Yeah we get along good. He knows I'm the only level headed and mature individual so I just play along with the rest of the family and when I leave I'll have a shot or two of whiskey with pops and we'll hug and I'll leave.
