As someone who has started multiple buisness, it's not easy. However, it is extremely rewarding when your hard work pays off. I just have 0 sympathy for people who complain about how they get fucked by big companies and are too lazy to think outside the box.
I worked with one of the most prolific minds in structural engineering on a daily basis. Incredible opportunity, the guy literally wrote the equations used by every structural engineer building a skyscraper. Great job, excellent opportunities, good pay. Every day I left I never knew what the weather was. Hated it.
I quit and started a company leveraging some contacts I made. First year, barely cleared 20k. Second year 70k and this year will hopefully be double.
It takes work, sacrifice and delayed gratification. If it's important enough to you, you'll make it happen.
Quit bitching and take charge of your own life.
Btw, it took 10 years to line the dominoes up before I could take the leap. But I put those fucking dominoes in place, no one else, ME.
Cliches being cliched*
I have no contacts, no skills that are desired outside my job, and no money to fall back on.
And I'm too old to wait 10 years.
It's not lazy. The Dominoes didn't line up.
I have zero patience for people who suffer under fundamental attribution error.
