I've never lived in a really cold place. I just wondered if when it's freezing outside and there's no heat that maybe people wear socks.

My heat it's off. It's sub freezing. I don't have socks on.

So no socks, thanks for the explanation. But what do you wear when walking around the house in the winter? Some type of slippers? I would think it's too cold to walk around barefoot.

If it is freezing out, why would there not be heat inside?

I was thinking of last winter when that freeze hit the US late January - early February. A lot of people didn't have power so no heat. I also think that some people don't use heat to save money. I remember reading someone that said they couldn't turn on the heat until ice formed on the inside of the windows.
