It's the same, sort of.

The same hydrocarbons that don't break down in plastic bags are the same that don't break down in crude oil.

The issue is then, are plastic bags more dangerous than lots of small particles of plastic. I'd personally rather a turtle die of a plastic bag wrapped around it than have any % chance of eating a fish with crude oil leftovers in it (or any other fish eating it).

But western countries are really bloody good at not letting our shit go to sea. Again, retarded people abroad means we can't have nice things, but nobody blames the low iq sand potatoes or chinks.

I save all my plastic bags n plastic packaging throughout the year, then I load it all up on a trailer and haul it with me to the coast on my yearly fishing trip. That's where I dump it all in the ocean myself.

I cut out the middle man. Just do it yourself.

worked in oil for a few years doing a niche trade few know about, we ended up with a tree hugger working for us one summer.

By the end of the summer he admitted to us that he had intended on doing everything he could to sabotage our operations. Realized on his own that he was lied to about how we operate and backed out of the stuff he was supposed to do.

Theres so much red tape in oil in the US that it makes it a pain in the ass to drill anywhere, even the big drilling operations are supposed to clean up the land and restore it to how they found it.

Oil fags are led to believe that oil production is messy and destroys the earth, but have no clue that we used to scoop oil up off the ground due to an over abundance.

No, that would just mean the price of everything goes up, and either you have really cheap gas or it's thrown away because nobody wants it.

You can make a pyrolysis reactor and turn your waste plastics back into basically kerosene, so I wouldn’t say that the plastic is an unusable byproduct.

Way better for the environment than fabric bags. Fabric has to be used over 1,300 times to make up for one use of a plastic. Use that plastic bag for a second use like a trash can liner or pet poop bag and double that number. That was NPR years ago but I have heard higher numbers too.
