Not really sure what gives, but Costco was absolutely jammed with people, and there weren't any empty shelves or shortages or anything. But the news is all about "supply chain" shortages and whatnot....

I haven't been to Costco for a few week but a local chain grocery store had more empty shelves than not.

The bigger companies have the leverage to get supplies in a constrained environment but the smaller businesses don't. This is a part of the commie plan, to destroy small business so everyone has a mega-corporate job or works for the government.

a mega-corporate job or works for the government.

Which are just about the same thing these days.

Florida opened up all their ports a couple of weeks ago, didn't they? I haven't heard about large numbers of ships hanging out in commifornia since then.

The supply chain issues isn't as simple as backed up ships. There a fewer people working and that is going to cause material scarcity that's greater than it was before. We have more people consuming than producing. And that means if the US's production is less but it's consumption remains the same, that imports have to go up. And if there is less staff at ports it will be hard processing that.

But in general material scarcity is down stream from labor scarcity which hasn't been resolved.

But most consumers are shielded from it to the extent businesses can help it because they do everything they can to not inconvenience you. But in b2b markets it takes way more effort to get supplies than it did before and that's been going on for a very long time. It just finally spilled over to the consumer for the last couple months.

Thanks for this.

I may switch to Costco.

I’ve been a member for 15 years. Even bought the casket to bury my mom there.

Costco is in the "club". But it looks like Walmart and Target didn't make the cut.

Costco doesn't use the same distribution method (chain) that your local grocer does. Costco has fewer links in their logistics. You are literally shopping at their warehouse.

Costco is chink owned.

Best buy printers are now restocked as well. Shortages are over. China is once again sending us their crap.

No, they are out of tons of stock. They just move in different stuff to hide the missing stock. I couldn't get tomato paste or beans on my last trip. There's also like half the selection there used to be.

It's been an on and off thing here. One thing to note is that it seems come companies are not making as many varieties of their products anymore.

Bullshit. I shop at Costco every week. They haven't had any frozen chicken that isn't chicken breast in two months. They have half and half only intermittently. Getting stuff like celery, squash, cucumbers, etc. can be challenging as stock is spotty. They had no Kirkland toilet paper and a limit of one package of either paper towels or toilet paper.

When Costco is missing stock they just slide other shit into the space to avoid empty shelves.
