Today is veteran's day, and my wife used to be a military member. she died a few years ago and i miss her greatly, and it's a massive point of contention to me. i hold her in extremely high regard. today i went to go have dinner with a couple from church. they tried to claim a military discount by claiming i was military (i'm a mil spouse, not direct mil), and then they claimed my wife was in the military (they didn't mention she passed away), and that they should honor the discount on her behalf. i wanted so bad to just get up and just fucking leave. i had no words for the complete level of disrespect these people had to both me and my wife, as if all she's good for is a meal discount at some shit diner. i didn't even know what to say, and i'm so happy i'm leaving back to my hometown, screw this state, and screw these people

Military discount applies to those who directly served the military. I would of spoke up and told them NO.
