Charities are 'socialist' substitutes for friends. Because the state decides who your friends can be.
Sponsor someone. That's what charity is. Sponsor someone who's down and out, it's better than the lottery, because when you win, you gain a friend. You have to know when it's not working and cut it off. You may be percieved as a judgemental asshole by some, but who really has time for more than one student?
