Been resisting this for years, but the women asked me to try it out. why didn't i do this years ago. everything just works. i have the lappy tied into my boat systems, same for the tab and phone. m1 macs have insane low power consumption, while doing high level tasks such as video rendering for our yt channel. i sold my simrad screens for ipads at the wheel and at the nav station. the only thing it sucks at is gaming, keeping the pc for that, but man it eats power comparably. my inability to change who i was limited me.

I understand why people like Apple. I do not. I don't like a walled garden. The worst part is Apple is designed to be thrown away. Even at their high prices.

The " walled garden effect" isn't happening. I have all the same stuff I had on android, while using less power at the same time. Rendering video on a comparable Ryzen laptop used 5x the power. Until intel's "next big thing," which I do feel they have, comes along. For those of us that have better things to do than configure computers, it's unmatched.
