Friday evening, after working outside all week, I felt the start of a cold sore forming on my lip. It was just beginning to swell and tingle. I have had them in the past and in my experience they have always lasted a couple weeks minimum. Anyway, week before last I had some work to do near Mexico so I decided to cross the border and pick up some boxes of Ivermectin to have on hand. You all are probably aware but fever blisters are caused from a virus. I decided that since I had the Ivermectin and it is an antiviral and anti parasitic I would just try it out. I had read something about a study where doctors were treating COVID patients with 12mg per day for 5 days. The pills that I got in Mexico were 6mg each and came out to about $1.62 per pill.

Friday evening, upon feeling the onset of the blister, I took my first pill. I proceeded to take pills every morning and evening for the next three days, staying on the 12mg per day regiment. Within 24 hours, Saturday evening, all the swelling was gone and the blister area of my lip was back flush with the rest of my lip. I only had a little bit of tingling feeling. by Sunday evening, day 2, it was virtually gone, I could still feel that there was something there, at the site, but the swelling was gone as well as the tingling sensation. It is now Tuesday, 3.5 days after the initial onset, and it's like I never had a fever blister. I am pretty amazed at the results and thought I should share. Like I said, I don't think I have ever had one gone in less than two weeks. Pretty amazing.

I get ulcers inside of my mouth when I'm getting sick or when I'm stressed out. L lysine prevents them, though, and if caught early enough will stop them. I usually just take one lysine a week or every other week and it keeps them away for the most part. I think it dissolves the protective coating on viruses so it allows the body to recognize the virus.
