I take my shirt off and show them the scar from my TB injection, then when they say "no, THE vaccine" I just ask them what they're on about and when they start talking I tell them I don't have a TV. When they continue talking I tell them about due diligence for medical trials/ I'm not being paid as a test subject nor is it geared around healing my terminal illness. This is in conjunction with my degree in cell and molecular biology.
Next, I say I'm not against it I just need several years to observe long term effects etc, whilst dropping expectations of what could happen. Then I ask if it's OK if I keep them in my study pool of volunteers I'm observing for the next few years.
