I had signed up for classes. The university decided to use token 2 auth, so they need your phone number. They need a personal contact in case something goes wrong. They need your address for sending non existent mail to. I tried one of their classes, and their anti cheat system involves having an indian guy looking at you by camera whilst you take the test, and locking your machine. Had to end up using a virtual machine so i could at least ensure their software didn't end up installing a bunch of crap. And people just accept this shit, its so frustrating

Unless you are planning to go into medicine, law or another "profession", college is a waste of time and money.

Only to an extent. The main point of college/uni is getting connections. These are two I'd agree with though. Unless you have people to practice with in both cases, you're kinda fucked in practice. But if it's something you could easily do on your own, like being an engineer, where you could benefit from your own work all the way down the line and never exactly need someone, you're better off self-teaching, even if it takes a few more years to get the gist of all of the advanced stuff.

I just changed car insurance companies about a month ago.

Yesterday I got a letter in the mail telling me that my husband and I need to download this app that monitors our driving to keep our rate.

I was never told anything about this when we got the insurance. To say I'm pissed is an understatement. Going to call to find out what my "real rate" is now. Wtf.

the safepilot app, you get a 15% discount if you sell your data, and we can relentlessly spy on you. I wouldnt be surprised if the app sends you spoof messages just to make sure you dont pick up your phone, ironically causing an increase in accidents to those who arent used to it

i used an app with a device for 3 months to help get my rates reduced. app was put on a phone that no longer gets used and i have 2 cars. I managed to get the max % discount, im not about to put their app on a device i actually use its rather intrusive.

you're better off going to a trade school or getting into a trade union that will take you with no experience and train you for the trade they represent at the low cost of union dues.

welding, plumbing, electrician, construction or another trade union all do this.

They are called invigilators, and they are there because students cheat on exams.

They catch quite a few of them every year.

I recall in my first year, I'm in the computer lab, writing up some computer code to simulate a supermarket queuing system.

This hot chick sits next to me and starts flirting away, all hot like. I am totally taken in by this behavior.

I go off to the bathroom, and hot chick steals my printouts. Bitch stole my fucking code like a whore steals your wallet.

I didn't turn her in. The code was unfinished.

Instead I wrote new code from scratch with a fully working debugged program, and got an A.

Never saw her thieving whore ass again.

She probably died of aids.

Even before this, man, it was a book selling racket. These professors benefit greatly from selling their own books in a new edition every year. They're bribed with lots of deals for books they write and publish themselves in return for building rhetorical systems for easily influenced kids.
