$1 for a cup of water, not even filtered

We were out at the park and there was a McDonald's near by. I forgot to bring water for the dogs, so I went to get teas for the kids and myself and a cup of water without ice for the dogs.

They're charging $1 for water now. Is this the result of $15 minimum wage? I expressed my surprise to the cashier and she said that an old man had cussed her our earlier in the day over it so it must be a recent change.

I have no idea what the over head on MCD is, but i'm sure it can't be much considering it's not even real food. This last year they stayed open and shut down dining room, so their over head had to be reduced even more. Corporate greed has no limit.

Pretty sure it's because of all the people who ask for a free cup for water then go get soda anyway. Where I'm from they've been making people pay for water for years because of this.

I do not know about now. It has been a very long time since I frequented a McDonalds. In the past they used the cups to inventory their drinks. If an employee wanted a drink they had to use a small complimentary cup. This was the cup they used when someone requested water.

Expecting even the smallest amount of discernment from the usual mutts and dregs of society that work at those places will only bring tears. Hence why a rule like that even exists in the first place, let alone having to apply to every situation.

It was my Go to at Taco Bell for the better part of a decade. It was like a burrito thing with this sauce and damn it was good. And it was big. Those assholes got rid of it for no reason.

I noticed they made their buildings look a lot better, but I haven't eaten at one in well over ten, maybe twenty years. You know home cooked food is much better.
