Fair point. But you have to understand that we are not like you. You had the war of independence, but we are still part of the Commonwealth. I'm 4th generation Aussie, but I am still 100% British from ancestry. The Commonwealth does things differently. Also, we are a small secluded island on the other side of the world. We don't have Mexican drug Lords pushing drugs and violence on our boarders. The need for guns is greatly diminished. Yeah, I totally get the second amendment. My favorite quote is from a Japanese general from the second world war. He said something to the tune of, if you want to invade America, behind every blade of grass is an American with a gun. When you have savages at your boarders, maybe that is what you need. In Australia, we are doing fine without it.
Maybe he meant "fines".
Oh, I am not pleased to see your government crack down on the people like this but it was really only a matter of time after they disarmed you. You need the guns for self protection and one of the things people need protecting from IS the government and now it should be clear to those in your country. What's next are virus passports and regular shots of DNA therapy in a social credit system where the gov't does whatever it wants to the masses there and they will want to humiliate you.
You are doing fine without your guns? It doesn't look like you are doing fine over there.
