The summers are quite warm (over 100 degrees quite a bit) but the winters are minus 40 or colder. Triple pane windows with thick doors (also with a storm door after that) don't stop the roar of the asshole with a muffler designed to make loud noises to compensate for something.

Depending what part of the yard, between 50-100 feet. In an area where everyone is quiet after 9, anything loud gets noticed by all.
