Not that any of you keep track of what I say here, but as part of my contract with this current role I stipulated no masks and no vaccines. Now... the company where the contracting firm has me placed is fine with that. It's the contracting firm that wants all of us to be vaccinated as a selling point to clients.

When they told me about the new requirement I called my boss and told him about it, then said I'd be leaving within two weeks. He freaked out, told me not to leave, then called the contracting agency and reamed them a new asshole.

No vax for me.

Being fired for any reason looks bad on your resume with future employers.

Only now have people been fired for not getting an experimental shot that is not actually a vaccine for a coronavirus. We do not live in normal times.

You are far better off leaving before being fired.

I disagree. There will be consequences for employers firing people for this sometime in the future, hopefully soon. We do not live in normal times.

Resigning is the accepted practice for arbitrary changing of working conditions.

Always resign politely. Give proper notice. Preserve the job reference.

If you quite because you refused to get the jab what makes you think they will give you a good job reference? We do not live in normal times.

In management circles, it is bad enough when management suddenly starts losing workers. It costs companies a fortune to hire and integrate new workers. It is also highly disruptive. Workers quitting is the kind of thing that gets managers fired.

We do not live in normal times. Things are already highly disrupted and these companies demanding you get an experimental shot don't care how many workers they lose.
