When they told me about the new requirement I called my boss and told him about it, then said I'd be leaving within two weeks. He freaked out, told me not to leave, then called the contracting agency and reamed them a new asshole.
Tell your contract shop you will not get an experimental vaccination and make them fire you. Do not quit. Giving the company boss a heads up is good so he can pressure the contract shop but make them fire for not getting the jab. It puts you in the right legally and protects your options in the future when the push back starts in earnest.
Are you even working on site or are you working from home?
I work from home, which makes it even dumber for them to try. Do they not understand the job market right now?
Being fired for any reason looks bad on your resume with future employers.
You are far better off leaving before being fired.
Resigning is the accepted practice for arbitrary changing of working conditions.
Always resign politely. Give proper notice. Preserve the job reference.
In management circles, it is bad enough when management suddenly starts losing workers. It costs companies a fortune to hire and integrate new workers. It is also highly disruptive. Workers quitting is the kind of thing that gets managers fired.
