I live in far western North Carolina. The remnants of Ida brought us about 6 inches of rain over 30 hours. At midnight, the biggest tree on my five acres came down on my house. No outside lights here on the mountain, but using a flashlight, it looks pretty bad. Just contacted the insurance company. Daylight will reveal all.

Been trying for over a month to get the local tree guy to take down that one tree. I love it up here, but the fucking hillbillies are pretty damn useless for getting anything done.

I've got a cabin with so many trees around it that I'm pretty much doomed. When I read stuff like this makes me think I'm just gonna have to up and move it to a clearer area.

Good luck OP, hopefully insurance does it's job. I have relatives whose house burned down and they got a nice hotel stay for awhile.

I've taken out about 30 trees in 4 years. I did the smaller ones and hired out the big ones to be laid back into the forest.

Insurance will cover the damages, which are smaller than I feared. I'm on 5 acres with trees on all sides. No neighbors, less than 10 niggers in the whole county. In scenic mountains. I'm home.

Glad to hear. I'm in a similar place, no mountains just big hills. There used to be NO niggers here but I've started seeing a few. Hopefully they're just truckers passing through.

I've cut down some big trees mainly for more sun to the solar panels. I just have to keep on eye on some close ones. I would need pros with big machinery, I can't cut them myself without them falling the wrong way. It's so heavily wooded in spring and summer you could be 50 yards away and not see my place, which I like.
