It is the premise of atlas shrugged, which a lot of people noticed would also be white nationalism if they only allowed whites in.
Bishock's story makes no sense.
Supply and demand would mean that the manual laborers would be doing very well in such a society, so they'd not have any reason to join up with Fontaine's smuggling operation.
There'd be a lot of poor houses in Rapture, in fact, charity would be a very successful business model, take a cut from donations to pay your workers, then use the rest to pay your clients, so long as the donations are given voluntarily its all good, they are even getting value for their investment, in the form of reduced level of poverty, which means clean streets and low crime rates, and, in the event they are in need of the poorhouses services, they get the security of the existence of those services.
Scientists would have jumped all over the discovery of a substance that repairs permanent nerve damage, even if that was all the slug juice did.
Objectivism does not support intellectual property, so Fontaine would make no money from patents on genes.
Objectivism also recognizes the complexities of consent, fraud is a very real crime in an Objectivist nation, so when you heard that fresh hair commercial claim that plasmids were 100 percent safe, that's a crime right there. Consent must be informed to be legitimate, and when you trick someone into entering a contract with you, that's a crime.
A product that disfigured, disabled, and kills its users in short order unless their users keep on using increasing amounts of it is not going to be a good product to sell, it will sell terribly, simply because with any new product, most of the population aren't going to use it upon its release, even if you have the very best product release on record, that's still going to be a minority of the population, and the rest of then will get to witness users of your product die an agonizing death after twisting into something that can no longer be properly considered human anymore, so from a business standpoint, it is in fact imperative that the flaws in the product be fixed, or that the product be abandoned, so as to salvage the company. Only a commie would think that the idea of selling a near instant horrific death is going to be a successful product. Compare it to something like legalized drugs for a good idea of how well such a product would do. Now, as a black market item, it might do well, but on the surface markets, it's not gonna.
Objectivism does not consider children the property of their parents, and also cobsiders children as having rights of their own, so Fontaine's orphanages would not be permitted, either.
In sum, the whole story of bioshock would not be possible.
Thank you for the detailed explanation of what is wrong with the BioShock interpretation of Objectivism. You are of course absolutely right; BioShock is a work of subversion, intended to undermine the premise in Atlas Shrugged by corrupting it and presenting a nightmare vision of how an objectivist society would be.
When people say the left can't meme they have no idea - the lefts memes are so sophisticated they can spend hundreds of millions of dollars making a game like BioShock, this is why so many games are pozzed. I often wonder how the artists and programmers feel about it, when their hard work is parasitized to inject cultural subversion into the vulnerable minds of children.
I didn't play BioShock 3 but could tell just from looking at it the plan was to promote miscegenation and demonize white people.
Andrew Galambos dealt well with intellectual property, stating correctly that IP was more important than physical property. One cannot have a car until someone imagines how one is to be built.
Love Atlas Shrugged. Wish Peter Jackson would make a better movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whx4QA3tGCo
Just encountered this SNL vid that illustrates how much the left hate Ayn Rand https://youtu.be/_8m8cQI4DgM
That saying about taking flack when you're over the target.
