Don't understimate the power of ideological purity +funding sources from the worlds richest people which are all in the middle east.

The taliban wasn't exactly created by the CIA. The taliban was a natural home grown resistance force to the Soviet invation and CIA just found them and armed them. The same as they do in all countries that they wish to destabilize.

CIA has control of a lot of things but taliban isn't one of them.
