I'm sure they will be doing this again. I buy "Survival Garden" seed bundles from local growers or on ebay. and I grab packets at the hardware stores of my favs. Just keep them sealed and store in a cool area of your house. Always buy heirloom open-pollinated seeds so you can collect seeds from your plants.

Seeds are great for barter. If you don't have a green house or covered grow boxes, easy to build from scrap lumber.

There were organic farmers locally that couldn't get onion and potato sets. If you buy organic potatoes by the bag, you can expose them to light and warm, they will sprout. I got 6-8 cuttings that way from just a few large ones.

I grow thyme and rosemary bushes and use them to surround the plants that deer like. I had no fence this year around blueberry bushes and they never touched them. (Bugs don't like them either and the heirloom seeds/plants resist disease as well. Happy gardening!

I live in the desert, I have only succsuffly grown peppers and cactus.

Now I just suck. You can get regular veggies but the growing times are way off from the rest of the nation, due to triple digit summers.

dig a trench, the bigger the trench, the cooler it is, and the shorter the sunlight exposure. optionally put a clear cover over it for greenhouse.
