Not that i'm disagreeing, i'm not and i believe that's true especially for the 'transmission of covid' its almost entirely at or from those crossing the border (rarely just from the community although that has happened) . But seriously, guess what, hospitalization for RSV among infants in currently extremely high in NZ atm. Due to (NZ medical experts say) the lack of 'normal' exposure to common everyday virus's - in part they say bc of the earlier lockdowns, the social distancing etc, basically the lack of involvement in normal community/ socialising behaviours - thus restricting and therefore suppressing the ability of their developing immune systems to create normal responses to a greater range of viral illness at an early age. So while the cold/ flu is almost non-existent among youth/ adults in NZ compared to past years, newborns/ infants are suffering an outbreak of respiratory illness simply bc they have been kept in a bubble and away from 'everyday life germs' . Fcking shameful but was also kinda predictable according to some last year.
