I suspect alot of these mutations originated with neanderthals who were living in northern europe for a much longer time. Blue eyes, blond and red hair. Freckles.

They were thuuuper hair thtylists too!

Some call them characteristics some call them mutations.

I wonder what the original unmutated one looked like.

Possibly, An albino hairless chewbacca.

The original lifeform was just a chain of amino acids. It didn’t have hair or eyes —hair and eyes are mutations.

If you mean what did early humans look like before they mated with neanderthals? Maybe a bit like Khoi/San people? Thats just speculation.

If you mean what did neanderthals look like— I guess since they were living around different parts of eurasia for a million years, they had different races, like us. Denisovans might be arguably a “race” of neanderthal but that might be stretching it. Not sure if they could produce fertile offspring together reliably which is sort of a criteria.

FYI they believe that homo sapien and neanderthal could not reliably produce fertile offspring. The male offspring of HS female and N male probably could not reproduce with an HS female which is why we have no neanderthal Y chromosomes in the eurasian population. We descend from the femal hybrids of N dads and HS moms, partially. If HS males could produce fertile offspring with N females, those hybrids are all now extinct as all mtDNA groups have been traced to an african eve in common with some really divergent groups like the Khoi/San and the Pygmies, ca. 2-3 hundred thousand years ago. I guess she theoretically could have been a neanderthal, but thats not likely imo.

Sorry for the sperg out. One of my favorite subjects.
