He was a good artist that specialized in city settings and architecture.
I suspect his work would go for reasonable prices for that genre if he wasn't famous. Reasonable prices are around $3000 to $10,0000.
However with art it is impossible to separate fame and scarcity of work of the artist from price as that is what makes it a good investment.
The interesting thing is that now people are finally willing to step up and purchase his art and recognize its value whereas a decade ago they would have been ashamed or intimidated to even buy it at any price.
I suspect his work will go for over $1,000,000 and possibly 100x that in 10 years. I would love to own some as an investment.

He sold a large number of them during his years in Vienna. He (eventually) made a good enough money on them to stay out of the factory jobs. He says that it is the reason he could stand back and watch what the (((communist party))) was doing to the people of the city. The crime, poverty, hopelessness, and so on.
Most of those paintings were small, fast-done affairs likely lost through time. Like small postcard sized things. So maybe if you look around hard enough you might be able to find one of the smaller ones somewhere.
