For some background, this bitch has always been annoying. She always has some politicized opinion she has to interject in the 45 seconds or so she gets to talk between songs, and talks about weird shit that makes her seem like a loon (best example I can think of is she believes in that crystal energy thing, whatever it's called, and claims this rock was moving around on her desk while she was talking to someone on the phone about a dead relative...yeah). She's the type of woman that if you were dating, you would have to be blind to not see the army of red flags waving in your face. So her husband got the dreaded rona after all this time and of course she has been in a fucking meltdown because of it. In one of her rants, she starts digging in about the vaccine and basically paints anybody who hasn't had the vaccine as irresponsible and essentially evil. That goes over really well and people start blowing her up through texts and calls to the station complaining. Nuance is beyond her as one might expect, so instead of just saying something like "I understand people have a lot of different opinions on the matter, I'm sorry I offended anyone, I just want people to be healthy and safe", a statement that I wouldn't consider a valid concern, but would at least be a way of stating her opinion and worries that I could respect, she doubles down instead. Days later, during primetime radio, she takes a 5 minute block of time, not even a fucking commercial playing, where instead she is having an "interview" with a doctor, some high level administrator at a local corporate hospital system. The discussion is clearly meant to vindicate her "moment"/faux pas, but the doctor does come out with some statistics and what is meant to be hard information. The doctor explains the delta variant (which whether it be what her husband has was never disclosed) has a "high nasal viral load" which is why vaccinated people are still getting sick. Delta is simply so strong that it overrides the vaccine. We never achieved herd immunity because we didn't reach 70% of people vaccinated or with antibodies, which is odd since apparently 57% of people have gotten jabbed and coronavirus is the most virulent plague we have ever seen, and I could be wrong about this one, but having antibodies to one disease doesn't protect against variants of the disease, hence why I still get the flu. He then explains the vaccines were never designed to stop transmission, just to keep you from getting sick. That seems like a pretty major oversight considering how the transmission of the disease is what has been completely fucking our country up for the past year plus, but OK. Then literally 15-30 seconds later he emphasizes how important it is to get vaccinated so that you don't accidentally infect your grandmother and thus inadvertently murder her. So during this interview, I learned a few things. First, this woman is as much of a nutso cunt as I thought she was, and I bet her husband has been cruising nursing homes literally liplocking the nose of every infected person he could find, sucking the mucus out as hard as he possibly can, in an attempt to die and get away from this nutjob. Second, despite covid being one of the most virulent diseases we have ever seen, despite the transmission factor of the disease being so high that we have essentially quarantined healthy people to stop its spread, despite having developed multiple vaccines for it, we still haven't reached 70% of people having an immunity despite 57% of them being vaccinated against it. Third, being vaccinated doesn't stop you from transmitting the disease to other people, but it is important to get vaccinated so you don't transmit the disease to other people. Sorry for the rant. Just wanted to get that off my chest.
