I don't get how these guys think it is good exercise to ride on a public road and breath in all that shit. Get a mountain bike, ride off road and breath in clean air while taking in the beauty of nature.

No, because it is two different cycling. One is speed and distance, the other power and endurance. In my best days, I could ride 80 miles in road easy. It was freaking awesome.
Bikes are awesome, just don't drive like an asshole.
As for licenses I suppose ancap road companies would charge bikes for access, but a lot less than a car.
I ride off rode on my Norco Sight 07 and believe me there are just as many whiny little bitch's on the dirt tracks (((walking))) and complaining about my speed every time I pass one of them.

I just stay off the road and try not to get caught by authorities.
