I had a conversation with a black boomer today.

He actually believes that whites aren't afraid of the police, whites aren't afraid of getting pulled over by the police, and that white parents don't have to teach their children about appropriate police interactions. It's not a meme folks, it's reality.

When I calmly informed him that his ideas were incorrect, he asserted that I must be feeling agitated and found a reason to visit some other dept.

For those of you who aren't familiar with gaslighting, one of the core defense methods is to stay calmly defiant.

Frens, please stay confidently, calmly, defiant. You are the key to your own sanity.

Wtf are you talking about? You've never noticed an officer driving nearby, and been worried that he might pull you over? Your parents never told you to keep your hands on the wheel to establish trust between you and the officer?

I guess I knew that intrinsically. Also if it's at night turn the dome light on ( if you don't have contraband in the car. ) turn your 4 way flashers on too when you get pulled over. turn the radio off etc. Roll the window all the way down.

Basically I think if I were the officer coming up to an unknown vehicle I think "what would put me more at ease" and behave like that. Odds are they're giving you a ticket to fill a quota not shoot you.

Unless you're driving like a complete asshole then you deserve what you get.
