Have you ever been in a plane traveling overseas? Did you finish middle school and high school science? Well Newton figured it out a couple centuries ago, before we had orbital rockets or cameras to record them. So it's not that hard to figure out.

When Werner von Braun used his model to hit London from hundreds of miles away, was he in on the conspiracy? How about when they launched one into space but didn't achieve orbit? It seems like a pretty good model if you can use it to hit something hundreds of miles away without even using a guidance system.
