I lost a key relationship when I went on a political rant in front of their coworkers many years ago. Though it appears that the coworkers in question internalized much of what I said so I suppose that what needed to be said was said. Funnily enough the night in question was the last night I was trending left, from that point onward I was shifting right and had I been able to continue for another 6 months or so I would have achieved parity with this person's values. But boy I really laid that shit on thick and even referenced time travel in Interstellar which was our first date, bringing the relationship full circle.
