He got the Moderna jab. This is someone who had taken the lock down very seriously and I had basically not seen him for a year. His wife has some medical issues that put her at risk so they had lived the life of hermits for the duration. When he was 'fully vaccinated' he started doing things again.

He also has an old knee injury from having twisted it bad about 25 years ago. Typically his knee does not cause him much trouble at all... It is in the category of "I can tell when a storm is coming because my knee aches."

About a week an a half after the second shot he woke up in the morning with his knee swelled up to the size of a basketball. Can't walk. Zero cause or explanation. He has been in a knee brace and hobbling around on crutches for 2 weeks now.

...the really scary thing is his brain refuses to entertain the possibility that the shot and his mysterious knee problem might be related. Last time I saw him he was starting to question me about when am I going to get the shot and "You're not turning into one of those stupid anti-vaxesrs are you?" He said this while standing on crutches for a totally unexplained medical issue that appeared right after the shot. Typically on the subject of the vax I feel that everyone has the right to make their own medical decisions so I don't confront people, but when he started in on me I felt unrestrained. I laid into him a bit and dropped some vax red pills and he was just getting defensive and was regurgitating the propaganda. "The new Indian 'D' variant is more deadly and is spreading!..." When I said "So you don't find it suspicious at all that you have this strange unexplained inflammation problem right after the vax when we KNOW that the spike protein causes inflammation?!?!" This comment hit him like a ton of bricks and he got quiet. It is really clear that he had just never considered the connection.

The lesson for me: We cannot stand by silently and watch our friends and families kill themselves. Non-confrontation and letting people 'make their own choice' is the cowards way out. I am now getting in-your-face confrontational with people. I know I will loose friends but it will be worth it if I am able to save just a few.

I could sense the slightly frightened disappointment in a very good friend when they realized I was never getting the vax and when I told them why because they had already gotten it and they value my opinion on many things.

I wouldn't have mentioned it but they asked.

I don't expect people who got it to mentally confront their possible mistake because the implications are very serious and also personally embarrassing as they would have to admit they got fooled.

There are very few friends left I know who haven't already made a firm decision one way or another but if I ran into anyone I cared about who hadn't gotten the vax and were about to I would do everything I could to explain why they shouldn't.

I have stepped into conversation with strangers in public when I have heard some discussing getting the vax.

So have I and had a nurse try to shame me. I ignored her and spoke passionately about personal choice and the truth about the vax and covid vs the "seasonal" flu. I found an ally in two people out of the 6 standing around. It saddens me to hear an elderly Veteran remark "we have to do what they say". I countered siting the Constitution and weaved in "my body my choice". This happened in Washington state outside a mall waiting for the doors to open. I'm over being afraid to speak out.
