Working on buying a house, and as a courtesy let my mom be able to view the houses im looking at. This women does not fucking belong anywhere near a purchase contract. I did eventually settle on a cheaper house with lower tax rate. My mom though is convinced i need to buy a mush flashier, much more expensive, harder to maintain house. Not because its better in any way, but because it looks flashier and she feels like its a better buy. The place she wants me to buy is FIVE TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE in maintenance costs from just the taxes per year than the place im looking at.

Some.

Woman used to handle the finances for the family. They would practice frugality.

I actually held onto my father's credit card since the age of 11 and I'm female. He would leave the house to pick up milk and come back with a $1,500 saltwater fish tank. Growing up he would have to ask ME permission to get his card back and I'd try my best to double check what he was buying to stop some of his insane purchases.

My dad is also a rare case though. I haven't another parent who reminds me of Peter Griffin before.

Handling the house finances is a respectable home keeping task for responsible stay-at-home moms in traditional relationships.
