Know the people around you. Whom do you really trust between randos in the internet or the old man next door whose lawn you mow? If you haven't already, build community. It's not a big thing you have to sign up for and get a permit to do. See your neighbor struggling to get a new couch in his door? Run up and help him. Old lady going out for groceries? Offer to pick them up for her. In times of great need, many will be able to help and be helped by only those whom they know well.
