That's the problem with the "every viewpoint is equally valid" mindset, common in such circles.
There is objective truth in this life. A simple example: You will eventually die. You can argue the meaning of "death" till you're blue in the face, but eventually, your body will cease to function. Hence, there are perspectives in this life which are "more valid" than others. Ie. those which lead to a more fulfilling life.
When you believe that everything is relative, and that truth is subject to interpretation, you begin to see "the collective whole" as supreme. "Surely if everyone is in agreement, it must be true! There's too much brain power involved for it to be false!"
Without accepting that there are "better" and "worse" perspectives, there is no search for the "ultimate truth" (eg. the perspective which gives maximal fulfillment). The end result is a mind that cannot discern "better" from "worse". Such a mind is, for all intents and purposes, lost. It cannot grow in a positive direction, because it has no concept of "positive" over "negative", as everything is relative.
In short, I'm sorry your brother is a faggot.
