I think the wood heater is the best bet for heating. Abundant fuel, low-noise operation, can cook food, boil water, etc. But you have to set it up right, surround its area in non-flammables, cut holes in your ceiling/roof, and so on.
I don't think you would need to cut holes, if you set it up in the basement and set the piping to go out the dryer vent...
Not a bad idea if I lived in the basement. But that's where I setup my home gym. And it would absolutely suck ass to have that thing going while working out lol.
I suppose oven vents are another way to safely get rid of those fumes without making too much of a mess?
Right now my plan is oil lamps [a couple cases of paraffin oil] and candles I have stocked up... I really don't know if it would be enough in the dead of winter where I'm located though.
