I read 'War is a Racket' after I got out of the Army. Crazy that he was exposing this stuff way then.
I keep thinking today, how many vets of the last 20 years realize they fought over bullshit. Deeply saddens me. Coming from a large long line of military family I always wanted to join the service, even though I was raised by my dad not to trust the bullshit of the media, etc. In high school, early to mid 2000s I realized it wasn't my path - funny, being one of the few conservatives with some liberal friends at least we both hated bush and the neocons.
