There's always something to fix, clean, doctor, feed, water, help birth, put down, buy, sell, trim, move, plant... It's busy work. It's useful work. It's the same work other people do except you do it all, jack of many trades. Have to learn to do it yourself, costs too much to pay a person who specializes in just one thing, which is what they did to city people. They tricked them into doing a single job all day every day, reducing their value to self as well as general usefulness for being competent to do things. Making them dependent upon the system.
The only time it's hard is when you're putting up fencing, or building a barn. Sometimes moving the animals is difficult.
Most city jobs aren't difficult, just soul sucking and emotionally draining.
Someone lives in a rural community. OP has know clue. He didn’t have shit to do because his host was being nice. Guarantee there’s 30 things on a list that needs to be done but always gets procrastinated.
Yep. I should've disbudded baby goats today. It's my least favorite thing to do. I would rather clean a sewer, I think. I'll get it done tomorrow though. 😑
Why do you disbud the goats? I have a couple of two week old kids and I haven't given thought about that. My goats are dwarves and their horns are pretty benign.
