To any electrical outlet in the United States. Electric cars can charge from any 220V or 120V outlet.
So will others if there is an emergency, and they'll be hogging that outlet for hours. If the grid is down, good luck finding someone who will lend their panels for hours.
How many electrical outlets do you suppose there are in the United States? Just in my house there are over 30. Some of them are on the same circuit, so you couldn't charge two cars at the same time, but there are 12 circuits (and 4 220V circuits).
You are looking at house outlets, I am looking at the electrical infrastructure from the transmission lines to the transformers.
If every one on the block is charging at the same time, especially with apartments, that causes issues with the nearby transformer or substation.
Now if the grid is down in an area, or maybe even a huge chunk of the country, where is there to charge?
