If you can't find a friend, or three. Better get in gear. Obviously shit coming down the pipeline is set in motion for a reason. Better safe then starving.

Noone living on a quarter acre (or less) lot inside a city is going to be able to grow enough food to feed a family after spending the rest of their life not gardening. That's like teaching someone chess then expecting them to compete with a grandmaster next weekend.

Still enough room to grow something, which is better than nothing. Find a community garden, or a friend with the yard and give that friend some produce too. Yes it could happen inside most cities. Either be creative or not. Even a spare room converted into a indoor garden can work. If you want to give up, fine. I prefer you don't.

I grew 3-4 lbs of produce a week 9 months a year on my postage stamp size lot in a city in 11 raised beds 4' x 6' each. Sure, I wasn't completely self sufficient, but I took a HUGE chunk out of our grocery bills

I think it's great that you have a garden. Not only do you save money, but you are eating healthier than store bought food.

Some people still might say that growing 3-4 lbs of food a week, 9 months out of the year, isn't going to save anyone if the stores shut down.
