It’s similar to the effect a car has on you. When you’re walking on the sidewalk and you see an old lady struggling to cross the road, you’re more likely to want to help her out, especially if people see you. If you’re in a car and that same lady is struggling to cross the road in front of you, the car creates a sort of distance between you and makes you more likely to be rude and call her a “slow cunt.” Anyway... let me know when people start openly shouting “NIGGER” in public.
